The authors consider second order systems of ODEs with a singularity. By the use of a fixed point theorem in a cone, they are able to prove the existence of a periodic solution, both in the attractive and in the repulsive cases. They do not need the so-called ``strong force condition''. However, their result does not cover the case of a Keplerian-like system.
