A real number sequence is a \textit{polynomial progression of degree} \(d\) if it is of the form \((P(1),P(2)\dots)\) for some polynomial \(P(x)=a_dx^d+\dots+a_1 x+a_0\) where \(a_d\neq 0\). The main result of this very nice paper is: for given integers \(d, \ell\) if the positive integers colored by finitely many colors, then one color class contains a polynomial progression of degree \(d\) and length \(\ell.\) In case of \(d=1\) this is the seminal van der Waerden theorem. The short proof -- along the line developed by Hindman and Strauss for proving the original theorem -- uses results from the ideal theory of semigroups.
