The Moore-Penrose inverse \(T^+\), for a bounded linear operator T on a Hilbert space H with closed range R(T), is defined to be the unique linear extension of \((T/N(T)^{\perp})^{-1}\) which satisfies the additional property \(N(T^+)=R(T)^{\perp}\) (N(T) denotes the kernel of T). In this paper was proved the following operator inequality: \((\lambda A+(1-\lambda)B)^+\leq \lambda A^++(1-\lambda)B^+\), for any two bounded self-adjoint positive operators A and B on H with closed range such that \(R(A)=R(B)\) and for real \(\lambda\) such that \(0\leq \lambda \leq 1\). The above inequality generalizes the corresponding result of \textit{D. Kaffes} [Bull. Soc. Math. Grèce, 22, 143-159 (1981)] for matrices.
