The heart is modelled as two fluid filled cavities surrounded by a wall regarded as a fully saturated porous medium. A set of three-dimensional partial differential equations together with appropriate boundary conditions is developed. A possible iterative scheme for solving these equations is outlined but no numerical calculations are carried out.
