The magneto-gravitational instability problem is studied for the flow through a rotating porous medium of a viscous electrically conducting fluid, when it is put into a uniform magnetic field, perpendicular to the flow direction. Finite ion Larmor radius effects are retained. The linearized problem is solved for the wave propagation, the direction of the magnetic field may be arbitrarily directed with respect to the axis of rotation of the system. It is observed that the corrections coming from all considered effects (beyond the simplest situation) do not change the instability criterion due to Jeans. The different stabilizing or destabilizing effects are discussed.
