This paper gives some reflections on the idea of fuzzy points, trying to bring the concept out of the rather naive framework of papers such as those of \textit{C. L. Chang} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 24, 182-190 (1968; Zbl 0167.510)], \textit{F. Conrad} [ibid. 74, 432-440 (1980; Zbl 0437.54003)], \textit{E. E. Kerre} [ibid. 74, 318-324 (1980; Zbl 0435.54003)], and \textit{C. K. Wong} [ibid. 46, 316-328 (1974; Zbl 0278.54004)]. In this respect we would however like to make the following remarks. The notion of a fuzzy point is not required nor natural in the framework of ''classical'' fuzzy topology, convergence and all other fundamental structures can be defined and used without it. The idea of vague points has been an underlying thrust in topos theory, e.g. Higgs-topos where it does find a natural mathematical and logical birth.
