The Lévy type solution procedure in conjunction with the state-space concept is used to determine the deflections and stresses for symmetric laminated composite plates with rectangular geometries by using a refined shear deformation theory. Combinations of simply supported, clamped and free boundary conditions are considered. Numerical results are presented for rectangular plates with different edge conditions, aspect ratios, lamination schemes and loadings. The solution should serve as a reference for designers and practitioners of numerical/computational methods.
