A set X with a binary idempotent associative operation \(\cdot\) and a unary operation \({}^*\) satisfying the identities \(x^{**}=x\), \(xx^*x=x\), \((xy)^*=y^*x^*\) is called a \({}^*band\). Injective and projective objects in varieties of \({}^*bands\) are described.
