The relaxed problem is defined for constrained minimum problems in an abstract setting, and properties of it are discussed. Applications to optimal control problems are considered. An explicit representation of the relaxed problem is obtained for dynamics of the form \(\dot x=a(t,x)+b(t,x)c(t,u)\), where x is the state variable, u the control variable.
