Theorem: Let M be a compact irreducible Hermitian symmetric space and \(\Sigma\) a compact Riemann surface. Then any stable harmonic map \(f: \Sigma\to M\) is holomorphic. That fine result has been found independently by Burns-Burstall-de Bartolomeis-Rawisky.
