The authors study a nonlinear boundary-value problem modelling the dynamical structural phase transitions (martensitic transformations) in shape memory alloys. One proves some a priori estimates which, combined with the local existence and uniqueness of the weak solution, gives relevant global results. This paper is on the line of the previous works of the authors. Some interesting comments on the phenomenology are also attached.
