The paper concerns an inverse problem for a Sturm-Liouville equation \(y''+(\lambda -q)y=0,\) \(0<x<1\), \(y(0)=y(1)=0\), which consists in finding the coefficient q when certain information about the spectrum or eigenfunctions of the problem is given. The author takes into account a new kind of spectral data, i.e. the position of some modes of eigenfunctions. He establishes the uniqueness theorem for the introduced data set.
