The author has tried to provide exact solutions to a general model for capillary-tissue exchange. A general mathematical theory has been formulated with the presentation of the governing equations. In case of small solutes which diffuse through the tissues the assumption is made that transcapillary flux is governed by diffusion alone, at a rate proportional to the concentration difference across the capillary wall and that the convective transport is negligible. In case of larger solutes which move through the interstitial space the author has limited himself to the special case where transcapillary flux is by convection with the filtered fluid. The analysis of the full problem has been presented nicely and solutions of arbitrarily high degree of accuracy have been obtained.
