The authors analyse the pseudorigidity concept introduced by \textit{J. Ehlers} and \textit{E. Rudolf} [Gen. Relativ. Gravitation 8, 197--217 (1977; Zbl 0387.70013)] and some properties of the corresponding flow field are derived. The pseudorigidity notion is weaker than the Born's definition of rigidity by postulating that the distance between neighbouring particles remains constant. Following the pseudorigidity definition, it is very difficult to decide whether a given motion is pseudorigid or not. In the paper the authors formulate a criterion for the pseudorigidity and show that under a further assumption pseudo-rigidity implies Born rigidity at the center of the motion.
