Two monoids are called Morita dual if certain subcategories of the categories of right resp. left acts are dually equivalent. \textit{U. Knauer} and \textit{P. Normak} gave an abstract formulation of the problem, defined the suitable subcategory and gave examples of existence [cf. ibid. 40, No. 1, 39-57 (1990; Zbl 0689.20049)]. In the present paper the author describes all monoids which have a Morita dual explicitly. It turns out that in particular Morita dual monoids are isomorphic. They are exactly atomic Rees monoids or equivalently commutative atomic chain monoids with trivial group of units.
