This book gives a classification of all consistent supergravity theories, the gauge theories of supersymmetry, in four dimensions. It is not intended to be an introductory course to supergravity. The author uses the conventions of the book by \textit{J. Wess} and \textit{J. Bagger}, Supersymmetry and supergravity (Princeton 1983; Zbl 0516.53060) which is recommended as introduction. The book aims at giving a more systematic derivation of the known supergravity theories. As a starting point for the classification the superspace approach by Wess and Zumino is used. Part I is devoted to conformal supergravity. Part II to Poincaré supergravity. The last part considers couplings to matter multiplets and gives an outlook to the problems of quantum supergravity.
