The author studies the heat kernel for the iterated Dirac operator on a simply connected maximally symmetric space. On an odd dimensional hyperbolic space the expansion of the heat kernel terminates at \(a_{(n- 1)/2}\). On odd dimensional spheres the kernel can be written as a sum of WKB kernels. In the even dimensional case the WKB approximation is not exact but a closed form for the kernel is found. The Plancherel measure and \(\zeta\) function are calculated in the hyperbolic case.
