Defining the following discrete-time analogues of matrix stability: diagonal, simultaneous, vertex, and \(D\)-stability (the last three in terms of a certain associated polytope of matrices), the authors show that the diagonal stability of any vertex of this polytope implies its simultaneous stability and hence \(D\)-stability of the vertices. \(D\)- stability being not equivalent to diagonal stability, several classes for which this equivalence holds are identified. They show that simultaneous stability of the vertices is equivalent to that one of the whole polytope. Some conjectures relating these types of stability are made.
