The ideas of a Morita context in, and the Brauer group of, a symmetric monoidal category were developed by \textit{J. Fisher-Palmquist} and \textit{P. H. Palmquist} [``Morita contexts of enriched categories'', Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 50, 55-60 (1975; Zbl 0268.18007)], \textit{J. Fisher-Palmquist} [``The Brauer group of a closed category'', Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 50, 61-67 (1975; Zbl 0268.18006)], and \textit{B. Pareigis} [``Non additive ring and module theory. IV: The Brauer group of a symmetric monoidal category'', Lect. Notes Math. 549, 112-133 (1976; Zbl 0362.18011)]. In order to capture important new examples, various authors have extended this to a braided monoidal category \({\mathcal V}\). The present paper distinguishes between Azumaya algebras and (assuming \(k\)-linear structure on \({\mathcal V}\)) central separable algebras. This leads to two different Brauer groups which only agree when the unit for the tensor product of \({\mathcal V}\) is a projective object.
