\textit{R. A. Brualdi} and \textit{B. Liu} [J. Graph Theory 14, No. 4, 483-499 (1990; Zbl 0714.05028)] extended the definition of the exponent of a primitive digraph to an arbitrary digraph. The authors study the finiteness of this generalized exponent and determine its largest value among digraphs on \(n\) vertices.
