The \(SU(2)\)-invariant selfdual Einstein metric on a four-dimensional Riemannian manifold is given by \(g=F(d\mu^2+\sigma_1^2/w_1^2 +\sigma_2^2/w_2^2+\sigma_3^2/ w_3^2)\). The local classification of metrics of this type was given by \textit{N. J. Hitchin} [J. Differ. Geom. 42, 30-112 (1995; Zbl 0861.53049)]. However, the final form of the metric coefficients related to the Painlevé VI equation in Hitchin's description was rather complicated. In this paper, the authors give simpler expressions for the same metric by applying the formula for the tau function of the algebraic and geometric solutions of the Schlesinger system.
