A generalization of the Euler-Maclaurin expansion is proposed for the quadrature error functional defined on a finite or semifinite interval when the integrand has power type singularities at the endpoints. This approach is based on the properties of the Mellin transform. In the case of nonintegrable singularities the Hadamard finite part integral technique is used.
