    Homoclinic orbits to the origin (being a hyperbolic rest point) are investigated for the Duffing equation \[ - u''+ u= a(t)|u|^{p- 1}u, \] with \(p>1\) and the positive definite \(a\) is asymptotically periodic. More precisely, nontrivial solutions to the above equation, tending jointly with their first derivatives to zero as \(t\to\infty\), are investigated.
