    The author studies positive weak solutions of the equation \(-\Delta u = u^ \alpha\) on \(\Omega \subset R^ n\), when \(\alpha\) is greater than the critical exponent. Such a solution \(u\) is called stationary if, in addition, is a critical point of a functional \[ {\mathcal E} (u) = {1 \over 2} \int_ \Omega \bigl\{ | \nabla u | \bigr\}^ 2 - {1 \over \alpha + 1} \int_ \Omega u^{\alpha + 1} \] with respect to variations on the parametrization of the domain. The singular set \(S\) of a solution \(u\) is defined as set of all points \(x \in \Omega\) such that \(u\) is not bounded in any neighbourhood of \(x\). Then for \(\alpha\) such that \({n + 2 \over n - 2} \leq \alpha < {n + 1 \over n - 3}\) a solution \(u\) is regular on \(\Omega - S\) and the Hausdorff dimension of \(S\) is less than \(n - 2{\alpha + 1 \over \alpha - 1}\). The proof strongly relies on a monotonicity formula for stationary solutions.
