Let us remain in the setting of the preceding review of the author's paper in Commun. Algebra 22, No. 1, 51-81 (1994). The 60-year-old cyclicity problem asks whether any finite dimensional division algebra is cyclic. The author begins in this paper to study cyclicity of division rings of Sklyanin algebras as in the preceding review (with \(p\) prime). Recall that, as \(A\) is finite over its center, it determines a sheaf \(\mathcal A\) of maximal order on \(\mathbb{P}^ 2\). Cyclicity of point and line quotient algebras \({\mathcal A}(P)\) and \(\mathcal A(I)\) is proved, and the global symbol in the case \(p = 2\) is calculated. Also, cyclicity of \(\mathcal A\) for \(p = 5\) and 7 is established, with restrictions on the base field in the last case.
