This paper is an extension of an advection algorithm of \textit{B. van Leer} [Computing methods in applied sciences and engineering VI, Proc. 6th Int. Symp., Versailles 1983, 493-497 (1984; Zbl 0565.65052)] and a 2D unsplit method of \textit{P. Colella} [J. Comput. Phys. 87, No. 1, 171-200 (1990; Zbl 0694.65041)] to tensor product grids in three dimensions. The method is implemented for the Euler equations of gas dynamics. Some examples calculating the blast problem in one, two and three dimensions are presented.
