The authors analyze various curve interpolating schemes for use on CNC machines and, in addition, they introduce two new approaches for realtime interpolators of that kind. The first one of these newly proposed schemes deals with implicitly defined curves, while the second one is designed for parametric curves. Both methods, which we do not want to describe here in detail, are well- illustrated by some numerical examples. Also, the paper contains a total of 7 figures.
