This paper studies the initial value problem for the semilinear Schrödinger equations in one space dimension, and mainly it shows the local existence of solutions. The problem comes from the fact that when one tries to have a classical energy estimate, the complex nature of the coefficients of the equations causes that the derivatives vanishes, and in order to circumvent this difficulty, the author refers to some results related to the theory of linear Schrödinger equations. Sufficient conditions for the local existence of solutions are stated.
