Given a holomorphic vector bundle over a complex projective space, one can define an analytic subvariety of the Grassmann manifold of two-planes called the ``jumping locus''. If the jumping locus is empty, one says that the vector bundle is uniform. The main result of the present paper is that, if the rank of the bundle is two, then the codimension of the jumping locus is at most two, unless it is empty. For semistable and stable bundles, more precise information about the jumping locus is already known thanks to the work of Barth, Gruson and Peskine, Hulek and others.
