Transverse structure of Lie foliations (Q1363227): Difference between revisions

The authors consider two problems, called by them the realization problem and the change problem, concerning Lie foliations. The first problem is to find, given a pair \((\mathcal G, \mathcal K)\) of Lie algebras with \(\mathcal K\subset\mathcal G\), a Lie foliation \(\mathcal F\) of a compact manifold \(M\) for which \(\mathcal G\) and \(\mathcal K\) become transverse and structural algebras. The second one is to decide whether a given Lie \(\mathcal G\)-foliation can become a \(\mathcal G'\)-foliation with \(\mathcal G'\) being a Lie algebra non-isomorphic to \(\mathcal G\). The paper contains several interesting results related to these problems.
