The author states some problems concerning limit cycles, algebraic invariant curves, and bifurcations for planar systems \[ x'=P(x,y),y'=Q(x,y), \] where \(P,Q\) are polynomials. Relations of these problems with the concept of intersection multiplicity of projective curves in the complex projective plane are described.
