In [\textit{A. Ikeda}, J. Math. Soc. Japan 35, 437-444 (1983; Zbl 0513.58044)] the author constructed pairs of non-isometric, but isospectral spherical space forms \(\Gamma_i\setminus S^{n-1}\). Here \(\Gamma_i\) is a non-cyclic, finite and fixed point free subgroup of \(O(n)\) of type I. Isospectral means that they have the same spectrum for the Laplacian on functions. In the present article the author constructs many pairs of space forms of Grassmann manifolds with similar properties. Let \(G_{q,n}\) be the real Grassmann manifold of all \(q\)-dimensional oriented subspaces of \(\mathbb{R}^n\). If \(n=2d\) is even and \(q\) is odd, then the above \(\Gamma_i\) also act fixed point free on \(G_{q,2d}\). The author shows that if \(\Gamma_i\setminus S^{2d-1}\) \((i=1,2)\) is a pair of non-isometric isospectral spherical space forms with \(\Gamma_i\) as above, then \(\Gamma_i\setminus G_{q,2d}\) \((i=1,2)\) is a pair of non-isometric isospectral space forms of the Grassmann manifold.
