The class of \(w\Delta\)-spaces has been investigated in connection with quasi-perfect preimages of metric spaces. This class is closely related to the class of \(p\)-spaces introduced in order to characterize perfect preimages of metric spaces. The authors consider the monotonic generalization of \(w\Delta\)-spaces. This concept (as well as the corresponding generalization of \(p\)-spaces) is a part of the generalized base of countable order theory developed by H. H. Wicke and J. M. Worrell, jun.. The class of monotonic \(w\Delta\)-spaces (monotonic \(p\)-spaces) is equal to the class of \(\beta_c\)-spaces (\(\beta_b\)-spaces) defined in [\textit{H. H Wicke}, General Topol. Appl. 1, 85-100 (1971; Zbl 0212.27203)]. Some of the results which the authors prove for the class of monotonic \(w\Delta\)-spaces are known to hold for \(\beta_c\)-spaces.
