The authors compare the approaches to the treatment of multivalued semiflows (generalized dynamical systems) developed in the works of \textit{J. M. Ball} [J. Nonlin. Sci. 7, 475--502 (1997; Zbl 0903.58020)] and \textit{V. S. Mel'nik} and \textit{J. Valero} [Set-Valued Anal. 6, 83--111 (1998; Zbl 0915.58063)]. Some examples from the field of differential equations without uniqueness and differential inclusions are presented. The relations between the attractor results provided in both theories are discussed.
