The authors examine the blow-up behaviour of the solutions of the semilinear heat equation \( u_t = D \triangle u + u^p\) in \(\Omega \times (0,T)\), with \(p>1\), \(T>0\), \(D>0\), and bounded smooth domain \(\Omega\) in \(\mathbb{R}^n\). They assume non-negative and non-zero initial condition \(\Phi \in L^\infty (\Omega)\) and either Dirichlet or Neumann boundary conditions. For Neumann BC, they provide upper estimate of the blow-up rate if \(p \leq 1 + 2/n\) or if \(D\) is sufficiently large. They moreover give sufficient conditions for the blow-up not to occur on the boundary of \(\Omega\) (e.g. under Dirichlet BC and \( p \leq 1 + 2/(n+1)\)).
