The authors study highest weight modules over the affine Lie superalgebra \(\hat{sl}(2| 1)\). A specific feature of this case is that highest weight vectors in usual Verma modules can be of different types, namely, they can be annihilated by quite different nilpotent subalgebras, normally related to the standard subalgebra via an automorphism. The authors call such situation {twisted} and also notions like {twisted highest weight module} and {twisted Verma modules} appear. Here the readers should be very careful and do not confuse this with the notion of twisted Verma modules, which appears for example in [\textit{H. H. Andersen}, Twisted Verma modules and their quantized analogues, Contemp. Math. 325, 1--10 (2003; Zbl 1031.17010)]. The authors propose new formulas for singular vectors in Verma modules over \(\hat{sl}(2| 1)\), in particular, they give explicit formulas for charged singular vectors in Verma modules. They also analyze the simultaneous existence of charged singular vectors and MFF-singular vectors and identify twisted modules arising as submodules and quotient modules of Verma modules. Finally, they construct some resolutions of simple highest weight modules in terms of twisted modules.
