Ch. M. V. Montigny, geb. zu Namur am 8. Jan. 1819, starb am 16. März 1890 zu Schaerbeek-lez-Bruxelles. Man verdankt ihm eine neue Theorie des Funkelns der Sterne und einen neuen Apparat zum Messen desselben (scintillomètre), ausserdem andere physikalische und meterologische Untersuchungen.
