The paper describes the application of a dual reciprocity procedure to the boundary element formulation of the modified Helmholtz equation, with space dependent source terms, described by a polynomial (smooth) variation. The scheme is developed to iteratively achieve the solution of Helmholtz-type eigenvalue problems is nonuniform media. Examples of application illustrate the accuracy of the approach.
