This interesting paper discusses and presents guidelines to the subject matter of where to position the collocation points in 2-D higher-order boundary element implementations. By minimizing the error functions within the element, an optimum location for the nodal points is identified, leading to improved solution accuracy when compared to the conventional equally spaced nodaldistributions alternative. Lagrange and Hermite interpolations are dealt with, up to high enough orders for practical use. Six example problems are included to illustrate the procedure.
