First-order representations of discrete linear multidimensional systems (Q1590504): Difference between revisions

A new class of first-order representations of linear constant-coefficient systems of partial difference equations is proposed. A generalization comprising non-causal systems, based on Willems' state-space behavioral approach is presented. The question of reducibility to a standard input-state-output setting is discussed; necessary and sufficient conditions are established. It is shown that for controllable systems an alternative first-order scheme is available, which is the dual counterpart of the representations.
