The author introduces an invariant \(\delta _k^r\) in terms of the scalar curvature and the infimum of the sectional curvatures of all totally real plane sections. He also defines strongly minimal Kähler submanifolds of a Kähler manifold (a subclass of minimal submanifolds) and framed-Einstein manifolds. A series of general inequalities involving these invariants for Kähler submanifolds in complex space forms is proved. Among Kähler submanifolds in complex space forms which satisfy the equality cases of these inequalities are totally geodesic Kähler submanifolds, strongly minimal Kähler submanifolds, complex cylinders over a strongly minimal Kähler surface. The author provides some nontrivial examples of strongly minimal Kähler submanifolds in complex space forms and shows that every strongly minimal Kähler surface in a complex space form is framed-Einstein.
