Let \(G\) be a complex semisimple group with real form \(G_\mathbb{R}\). The group \(G_\mathbb{R}\times G_\mathbb{R}\) acts on \(G\) by left and right translations. An orbit-type stratification of \(G\) is studied. The motivation is a connection, proposed by Gelfand and Gindikin, with representations of \(G_\mathbb{R}\).
