The authors study distributed-parameter systems which incorporate energy flow through the boundary. The structure is represented as a boundary control of Hamiltonian systems, where the Hamiltonian is related to an infinite-dimensional Diract structure. The formulation is applied to Maxwell equations in a bounded domain, and to Euler equations for ideal fluid.
