Let \(E=\begin{pmatrix} 1 & 1 \\ 1 & -1\end{pmatrix} \) or \(\begin{pmatrix} 0 & 2 \\ 1 & 0\end{pmatrix} \), and let \(E^*\) denote the transpose of \(E\). A wavelet multiplier with dilation \(E\) is a function whose product with the Fourier transform of a wavelet with dilation \(E\) is the Fourier transform of a wavelet with dilation \(E\). The author shows that \(v\) is a wavelet multiplier with dilation \(E\) if and only if \(v\) is unimodular and \(v(E^*x)/v(x)\) is \(2\pi\) periodic about \(x\). This generalizes a result on wavelet multiplier with dilation 2 by \textit{X. Dai, Q. Gu, D. Han, D. Larson, R. Liang, S. Lu, D. Speegle, G. Garrigós, E. Hernández, M. Paluszynski, M. Papadakis, H. Sikic, D. Weiland} and \textit{G. Weiss} [``Basic properties of wavelets'', J. Fourier Anal. Appl. 4, 575-594 (1998; Zbl 0934.42024)]. Consequently, for a multiplier \(v\) and a wavelet \(\psi\) associated with a multiresolution analysis, the function, whose Fourier transform is the product of \(v\) and the Fourier transform of \(\psi\), is a wavelet associated with the same multiresolution analysis.
