For \(I,J\in\mathbb N\) let \[ \ell=(\ell_1,\dots,\ell_I)\in\mathbb N^I,\quad m=(m_1,\dots,m_J)\in\mathbb N^J, \] \[ p=(p_1,\dots,p_I)\in\mathbb R_{>0}^I,\quad q=(q_1,\dots,q_J)\in\mathbb R_{>0}^J. \] Define the generalized complex ellipsoid \[ \mathcal E^p_{\ell}=\Big\{z\in\mathbb C^{|\ell|}:\sum_{i=1}^I\|z_i\|^{2p_i}<1\Big\} \] and the generalized Hartogs triangle \[ \mathcal H^{p,q}_{\ell,m}=\Big\{(z,w)\in\mathbb C^N:\sum_{i=1}^I\|z_i\|^{2p_i}<\sum_{j=1}^J\|w_j\|^{2q_j}<1\Big\}, \] where \(z=(z_1,\dots,z_I)\in\mathbb C^{\ell_1}\times\dots\times\mathbb C^{\ell_I}=\mathbb C^{|\ell|}\), \(|\ell|=\ell_1+\dots+\ell_I\), \(w=(w_1,\dots,w_J)\in\mathbb C^{m_1}\times\dots\times\mathbb C^{m_J}=\mathbb C^{|m|}\), \(|m|=m_1+\dots+m_J\), and \(\mathbb C^N=\mathbb C^{|\ell|}\times\mathbb C^{|m|}\), \(N=|\ell|+|m|\). The first result of the paper under review is the following Alexander-type theorem. Let \(|\ell|\geq2\) and \(p_i\geq1\), \(i=1,\dots,I\). Then every proper holomorphic self-mapping of \(\mathcal E^p_{\ell}\) is a holomorphic automorphism. The second main result of the paper is a complete description of the proper holomorphic self-mappings of \(\mathcal H^{p,q}_{\ell,m}\) under the additional assumption that \(p_i\geq1\), \(i=1,\dots,I\) (in case \(|\ell|\geq2\)), or under the assumption that \(q_j\geq1\), \(j=1,\dots,J\) (in case \(|\ell|=1\), \(|m|\geq2\)).
