The paper under review deals with the asymptotic behavior of parameter-dependent operators admitting a fibre decomposition. More precisely, the authors consider the behavior or resolvents of parameter-dependent families of fibre-integral operators $\int_{\Theta}^\oplus \mathcal{B}_\epsilon(\theta)d\theta$ on a space $\int_{\Theta}^\oplus H d\theta$, where \[ \mathcal{B}_\epsilon(\theta)=M(\theta)+\frac{1}{\epsilon}A(\theta), \] where $M(\theta)$ is bounded and linear, and $A(\theta)$ is (possibly) unbounded linear skew-selfadjoint. In order to study the behavior of $\mathcal{B}_\epsilon(\theta)^{-1}$ in the uniform-operator topology, the authors develop a new method of studying the uniform in fibre behavior of resolvents to fibre-integral families in terms of the small parameter. Moreover, the authors determine a whole family of operators that are asymptotically equivalent to the operator $\mathcal{B}_\epsilon$.
