For every topological space \(X\) that is not finitely generated the author constructs a topological space \(P_X\) with the following three properties: (1) The coreflective hull of \(P_X\) in Top coincides with the hereditary coreflective hull of \(X\) in Top. (2) The underlying sets of \(X\) and \(P_X\) have the same cardinality. (3) \(P_X\) has precisely one non-isolated point. As an application of this and earlier results he further obtains the following theorems: (A) The collection \(\mathbf A\) of those coreflective subcategories of Top, whose hereditary coreflective kernel is the category of finitely generated spaces, contains with \(A\) and \(B\) also the coreflective hull of \(A\cup B\). (B) the collection of those \(A\) in \(\mathbf A\), whose hereditary coreflective hull is Top, is closed in the ``lattice'' of all coreflective subcategories of Top under the formation of non-empty intersections and of non-empty finite joins. Moreover it has a smallest element.
