In earlier work the authors proved a generalization of Gleason's theorem to \(JW\)-algebras \(A\) with no type \(I_ 2\) direct summand. To be precise they showed that any finitely additive probability measure on the projection lattice \({\mathcal P}(A)\) of such a \(JW\)-algebra \(A\) is the restriction of a positive linear functional on \(A\) to \({\mathcal P}(A)\). In this note the authors show that their result can be used to show that every ortho-isomorphism \(\varphi\) from \({\mathcal P}(A)\) onto \({\mathcal P}(B)\), where \(B\) is a second \(JW\)-algebra, is the restriction of a Jordan isomorphism from \(A\) into \(B\). Dye's theorem appears as a corollary of this result.
