Let \(X\) be a nonsingular projective variety of dimension \(n\) and \(E\) be an ample rank \(r\) vector bundle over \(X\). It is known that the cohomology groups \(H^q(X,\Omega_X^p\otimes S^kE)\) vanish if \(p+q>n+k(r-1)\). The author proves a better vanishing theorem provided that the tangent bundle of \(X\) is uniformly nef, i.e. admits a filtration with nef quotients of rank 1. This applies, for example, to toric varieties, e.g. projective spaces, where the author proves that \(H^q(X,\Omega_X^p\otimes S^kE)= 0\) for \(q\geq r\). There is also a version of this theorem for exterior powers of \(E\) or, more general, Schur functors.
