Using potential flow model, the author studies the motion of a circular cylinder and \(n\) point vortices in an unbounded volume of perfect fluid. He obtains equations of motion for circular cylinder, and derives formulas for hydrodynamic force and moment acting on a cylinder of arbitrary cross-section.
